EDITORIAL - LIFE GOES ON
A mere month after the release of issue 3.3, I am sitting here, a
proud new editor. I got some reactions, and they were all very
positive. It seems that you people out there really like the new
pageview routine that I sweated so much on (and sweat it was).
But as with every new program one writes, there is a bug in 3.3.
You cannot create a WP file of any document because of a
programming blunder I made. Also, trying to create a WP file did
some weird things to the text, and all sorts of strange things
happened. I wiped the bug out with all my effords, and there is
no trace of it anymore. So you can happily create WP files now. I
also made a few minor improvements which you'll probably won't
notice.
By the way, we have a new Austrian Distributor. The last one
stopped corresponding and I got a letter from a vriendly dude
called Mike who suggested becoming Distributor. He also wrote an
article about vertical scrolling which is very clever. His adress
is in the ST NEWS colofon.
Boy, this issue of ST NEWS is really something. Both Richard and
me are convinced of the fact that this is THE best ST NEWS yet
released. It is so crammed full of articles that the bytes are
literally falling of the disk. During creation of this mega-
issue, we wrote another unique real-time article. You can find
this one in the next issue of ST NEWS because it also contains
the Synth Sample V story.
Also, this issue contains the first real software house backed up
competition. You can win a signed copy of 'Vixen'. Refer to the
special article for more details. We are planning on organizing
more of these competitions, providing the software houses are
willing to co-operate.
I found out that being editor is a tough job. It absorbs a lot of
my time. And I have so little of it! My current profession as a
computer programmer/analyst takes lot of my time and energy and I
have little left for ST NEWS but I will manage...don't worry.
This is the end of yet another (a little short perhaps?)
editorial. I wish you lots of fun with ST NEWS and keep on using
the ST!
Sincerely,
Stefan Posthuma
Extremely busy editor of ST NEWS

The text of the articles is identical to the originals like they appeared
in old ST NEWS issues. Please take into consideration that the author(s)
was (were) a lot younger and less responsible back then. So bad jokes,
bad English, youthful arrogance, insults, bravura, over-crediting and
tastelessness should be taken with at least a grain of salt. Any contact
and/or payment information, as well as deadlines/release dates of any
kind should be regarded as outdated. Due to the fact that these pages are
not actually contained in an Atari executable here, references to scroll
texts, featured demo screens and hidden articles may also be irrelevant.
