POP POLL by Richard Karsmakers
The most distinctive change in this time's pop poll will
probably be the new number one: A game that wasn't even present
in last issue's pop poll! "Flightsimulator II" is still holding
on to a 12th place, and has managed not to go down for the first
time since about half a year! Have the people already laid their
hands on the European scenery disks, that make the game more fun
again? Nobody knows. "Goldrunner" has (finally) vanished from the
ranks, where it has almost constantly been since its launch. Due
to the high offering of other games, its sequel "Goldrunner II"
will probably not put down this remarkable achievement.
Another notable thing is that Ocean's "Arkanoid" will probably
be in the list this time for the last time (let's not become
emotional - snif). Further, "Carrier Command" has climbed a
little, whereas "Dungeon Master" seems unremovable from the lower
ranks. I wonder what this latter one will do in the ST NEWS
Software Top 100 - to be published in the last 1988 issue of ST
NEWS.
