DEMO TIPS - HOW TO GET TO THE HIDDEN SCREENS
by Lars Johansson/Dark Shadow of Flexichron
How to find the hidden screens in megademos and how to cheat...
Yo folx! Lars Johansson (from Swedish Homecomputer News, or in
Swedish: "Svenska Hemdator Nytt") presents an exclusive article
about cheats in demos and hidden screens.
But first let me tell you a little about myself. I am the person
who writes about demos in SHN, the oldest, best and most known
Swedish computer magazine. I was the first person who REALLY
wrote about demos. I've mainly written about ST demos until now,
but there will probably be some reviews for other computers very
soon. But don't worry I'll continue to type about ST stuff. I
review demos and I only criticize those demos that are really
worth it but I normally don't review bad demos except a few
exceptions (NOT -TEX-!!). I have also done interviews (for
example I've done an interview with Phenomena (Amiga)). I have
also done interviews with Sync, Vector, Furyo of OVR and some
other people. They will be published very soon (in SHN that is,
ED.). I also write about parties like "Hackerence" and the "2
Life Crew and TCB convention". I am also a member of The
Invizibles (TIV) of the "Union" FLEXICHRON. If you're a Swede
then you know everything I've written here and the other people
will now know too. If you have made a nice megademo then send it
to me, please! Now let's continue with those cheats...
Bloodsucker Demo
Just press * on the upper right corner of the keyboard and just
read the scrolltext in that screen and you might be able to find
another hidden screen. Try to press 'ESC' when you're booting
your ST.
Dark Side of the Spoon
There are lots of doors at one place. Select the second door
from the right (on the second row from the upper part of the
screen).
Delirious Demo 2
Do like this in the menu: place the mouse-pointer on the little
star and press the button. Then you can select some bootsector
screens to look at.
Mindbomb Demo
The screen that is called "hidden" is so easy to get to that I
really don't know if I should type this. The screen called Vector
is the screen that we're talking about (the screen is made by TLB
not the crew called Vector). Just climb the ladder as high as
possible (without coming to the next floor) and then walk to the
right.
Ooh Crikey Wot A Scorcher!
Well, you can not get to the hidden screen by using software.
You'll have to crack the demo. Don't worry you can get it even if
you're no cracker. Some people have spread the screen as a file,
Onyx have made a short loader to load the screen, some dutch crew
have made a loader to load all the screens and AN Cool has hacked
the whole demo to small pieces... Well, I've got a cheat for this
demo anyway. Type: MANCHESTER in the menu and then you can press
the F-keys to select screens.
Skid Row
There are two hidden screens. The first one is on the opposite
wall of ACF3. Walk into the trashcan and you'll hear the Anti-
Amiga-song. To get to the other hidden screen do like this: When
you have TRT1 on your left side just walk one step forward
towards the wall and then turn right. Now you can walk to the
door for the hidden screen.
So Watt
This is not really a hidden screen but quite a lot of people
don't know that you will see a new screen if you press reset when
you have selected the screen by Vector.
Swedish New Year Demo 2
Hold down the left shift-button when you boot your computer.
It's a bit difficult to get to the hidden screen but I can
promise you that it works. SNYD 2 have been put on the same disk
as SNYD 1 by Hackbear and it's too easy to find the hidden screen
on that menu.
Syntax Terror
Type "GESICHTKONDOM" twice in the intro with the info-text about
the demo and you'll see the first hidden screen. You can also
find a hidden screen from the menu. Place the cursor above the
memberlist (where there is no text) then type:
"HEMMELHERRGOTTSJESAWILLA" and you'll see the second hidden
screen.
The Omega Demos
If you can't find any more screens in the Omega demos then try
to press reset. They really like reset...
The Union Demo
Press the joystick-button when Charlie is standing in front of
the TEX-logo. If you hadn't found this screen then you must be
very stupid.
XTC Demo
This is not a hidden screen, it's a "hidden" picture. When you
have selected a screen four times (or different screens) a new
picture will appear in the menu. After four more selections the
old picture will be shown again.
YO Demo
When you are at the end of the level (the screen is completely
black) shoot everywhere and a hidden screen will appear. Fly to
the right side of the screen and press return to load the
lamertest. To get a shield (cheat) press P, capslock and then
type TMR (must be done when you're in the menu).
Punish Your Machine
All I have to say is that there is a "HIDDENSCREENMESSAGE"!!
Maggie #1
Click with the both mouse-buttons on the disk (on the left
side). The right answers are: 400, CRAP, 51, NEXT, AND.

Choose printing and then select Disc Maggie. The right answers

Just pick Question Quest (adjusts-menu). To get to the hidden

THALION, RAINBOW ARTS, FUCK, BEER, VODKA.
Are you one of those game-freaks?
OK, here are some cheats for you, too...
Wings of Death
Wings of death is again one of those shoot-everything-games but
there's an exception: It's worth playing! Type: "ST FOREVER" in
the menu. Then choose START NEW GAME and you will be able to
choose which stage to begin on (1-7). When playing try the
following keys:
F1 - Pressfire
F2 - Circleblast
F3 - Powerbeam
F4 - Dragonfire
F5 - Thunderballs
F6 - Hunter
F7 - Destroyer
F8 - Shield
F9 - Autofire
F10 - Energy
The Thalion intro
When everything has happened try to type: AAARRGH and SCHNISM.
I could also tell you the right answers for different lamer-
tests but I don't want to because if I did that all lamers could
get into the hall of anti-lame!!
Well, this is it for this time. I hope you have found something
of interest here.
Accidentally, "The Naked gun 2 1/2" is the funniest movie ever
made!
