"My hat was in that car."
Friday quote ("Dragnet")
DID YOU KNOW THAT...
by Richard Karsmakers
This column has been in ST NEWS ever since I started it, way
back in July of 1986. I had never really found fault with it,
until I started cramming in more and more diverse topics. This
issue will therefore witness a revised setup of the "Did you know
that..." column, which is divided in several head topics so that
people don't have to sift through stuff that is of less interest
to them.
So let's do it.
Did you know that....
This issue of ST NEWS
...this is the 30th issue of ST NEWS, and the fourth undead one?
...it is also, a bit more officially, called ST NEWS Volume 7
Issue 1?
...it was released on January 11th 1992?
...this day was the first day of snow in Holland in this year?
...it was a beautiful experience to open our eyes (and the
curtains) to this white divinity?
...I shall further refrain from mentioning weather conditions?
...it is yet another issue of our mag, filled to the brim with
the most interesting things?
...this issue is dedicated to guitar player Jason Becker?
...more information with regard to this may be obtained from the
dedication article, to be found elsewhere in this issue?
...the main program has been recoded using "GfA Basic" version
3.6TT instead of the version 2 that Stefan considered good
enough to use for the last three or four years?
...it was about time?
...you may have noted the custom-written menu system Stefan did?
...he got lots of new inspiration for the writing and coding of
ST NEWS?
...that is a good thing?
...tips about how he did this can be found in a "GfA Trix"
article, elsewhere in this ish?
...he also sped up the special character style routines in the
pageview mode a bit?
...the music was again made by fellow QX member "The Mind"?
...this time it is a truly exclusive piece of music, made
especially for ST NEWS?
...this was about time, too?
...we are quite proud of this fact?
...the music was finished several hours before this issue was put
together, a process filled with the usual bug hunting and
frustrating things that never went wrong but suddenly did
anyway?
...we'd like to thank Laurens a lot for the extra trouble he went
through?
...the picture was made by Dogue de Mauve of the French Crew
the Overlanders?
...this picture came last in the ST NEWS International Christmas
Coding Conference graphics competition?
...he got special credits and prizes because of the fact that we
(i.e. the jury) laughed our heads off?
...you will probably like the picture as well, even though it may
not be artistically pleasing?
...another member of the Overlanders, Furyo, also submitted
something for use in this issue?
...it's an Ode To Metallica?
..., with humble voice, I'd like to say that it was I who was on
the base of Furyo's Metallica liking?
...the Overlanders have recently joined The Union?
...I'd like to congratulate them with this?
...a member of RCC (Rom Construct Crew), a chap by the name of
Marc "The Dixie Flatline" Freebury, wrote this time's boot
code demo?
...he also wrote some more stuff (both editorial material and
demo stuff)?
...we'd like to thank him very much for these pieces of
spontaneous utterance?
...we have quite a lot of hidden articles in this particular
issue?
...we are not very proud of that, however?
...something that we are proud of is the fact that we are able to
offer you the full, uncensored, unabridged version of the film
script of "Terminator II" here?
...this has nothing to do with computers but is unbelievably cool
(almost as cool as the Bitmap Kid) nonetheless?
...it even includes scenes that weren't actually done in the real
film?
...it's almost 270 Kb in size in total?
...the second part of the Plantiac Pilgrimage was quite a
success?
...all about it can be read in another article of this issue?
...this issue also features some solutions taken from the
"STupendous" magazine?
...this is a regular (i.e. paper) magazine published by an
enthusiastic gathering of ST users?
...these people call themselves the "Atari ST User Association"?
...their address is 18 Poplar Close, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire,
SG18 0EW, England?
...their membership fee (including PD disks and bi-monthly
"STupendous" magazine) is £15?
...people with Single-Sided disk drives need to pay 3 quid more?
...I have started studying English?
...I think it's an OK thing to do?
...I really hope the contents of this issue (or at least the
quality thereof) will reflect this?
...Birgir, our Icelandic ST NEWS distributor, is no more?
...I mean he is no longer our distributor and no longer an ST
user?
...he now owns the A....-machine (which does not stand for Apple,
Archimedes of Atari)?
...he switched to this machine 'coz he had noone around who knew
how to handle the ST there?
...we deeply regret this?
...we have a new distributor in France, however?
...it's a large Public Domain library that works together with
the French magazine "ST Magazine"?
...their address can be found in this issue's "Colofon" article?
...French distribution should now be perfect?
...we also have a new U.S. distributor?
...he is called Dan Hollis?
..., again, his address may be found in the "Colofon" article?
...ST NEWS might actually become a bit more regular in the
future?
...we are planning to use some more third-party stuff, especially
off "Usenet"?
...this will assure that we have about a meg of articles quicker,
so that the stuff we write will get down to you quicker and
the articles in general will be more up-to-date?
...we are also going to work somewhat closer together with some
other disk magazines?
...negotations should have been rounded off as you read this?
...you should not expect ST NEWS to get 'more decent', 'less
absurd' or generally 'less what we ARE'?
...Psygnosis managed to fill up this issue right up to its very
brim just before Christmas by sending their Christmas titles?
...these titles are "Shadow of the Beast II", "Barbarian II" and
"Oh no! More Lemmings", of which full reviews can consequently
be found elsewhere in this issue?
Atari
...I will now get down to some Atari news bits?
...the Atari "Panther" games console will never happen?
...development was stopped altogether and prototype machines were
withdrawn?
..., instead, Atari has decided to do a better machine, called
"Jaguar"?
...it will be released in 1992, and rumours are talking that it
is much better than the "Panther", which was already much
better than the "Super Famicon" of Nintendo?
...rumours include 68040, 64-bit, and true color modi?
...this all sounds very exciting?
...Unix for the Atari TT is now finished?
...TT users have been waiting a long time for this?
...multi-tasking Operating Systems for non-68030/68040 processors
will not be supported by Atari?
..., at least in the UK, all TT's are now being sold with 1.44 Mb
(i.e. HD) floppy drives?
...this is very wise?
...TT's in other countries might very well be supplied with these
in the near future as well?
...the "ST Pad" (an ST with no keyboard but a lightpen) will be
renamed to "STylus"?
...the "ST Book" should be available as you read this (at least
in Holland)?
...this will then probably coincide with the availability of the
MEGA STE in the UK?
...it seems to me that Atari UK is very slow?
...the "ST Book" will be available in two configurations?
...the cheapest will be 1 Mb memory with a 40 Mb harddisk?
...this will cost about 4100 Dutch guilders?
...the most expensive model will have 4 Mb memory and an 80 Mb
harddisk?
...Atari is developing a new computer system called "Falcon"?
...this is an ST-compatible computer that, according to Atari's
Sam Tramiel, will be competition for Steve Job's "NeXT" and
Apple's "Quadra"?
...we're talking about an 68040-based (33 Mhz) computer with a
large power supply, 3 VME slots and a built-in 24-bit true
colour card?
...I really hope this will be "NeXT" power at the price of an
expensive ST?
...the German CeBit may see the release of a kind of TTe?
...this means a TT with a built-in true colour card?
...Atari also mentions a low cost TT, based on a 20 Mh 68030?
...there will even be a 1040 ST with a 16 Mhz processor instead
of 8 Mhz?
...Atari UK is pissed off because of many programs of theirs
ending up in PD libraries?
...they claim even "NeoChrome" is not Public Domain, except for
version 0.5?
...they are therefore not pleased with "NeoChrome Master"?
...I think this is extremely unfair, not to say RUDE of Atari UK?
...I happen to know that the Delta Force (the people behind
"NeoChrome Master"), wrote many letters to Atari USA and/or
Dave Staugas ("NeoChrome" author) requesting permission?
...Atari never bothered to reply?
...I really hope Chaos Inc. will not get into trouble with this?
...they shouldn't, as they even state Dave's address in their
version, encouraging people to send money to him?
Music
..., on the bootleg CD front, there is yet another interesting
bit of news?
...a 2CD live bootleg of Joe Satriani recently came out?
...it's taken off a concert he did on April 14th (Stefan's
birthday!) 1988 in San José, California?
...it features 90 minutes of music ("Memories", "Ice 9",
"Midnight", "Rubina", "Circles", "Lords of Karma" + Stuart
Hamm mega super bass solo, "Echoes", "Hordes of Locusts",
"Crush of Love", "Always with Me", "Satch Boogie" and "Surfing
with the Alien")?
...it's off the same tour as the "Guitar Killer" bootleg I
mentioned in the previous issue of ST NEWS, but of slightly
less quality, yet more complete?
...no OSE (i.e. Official Satriani Extoller) should be without it?
...there is no Satriani Extoller Club?
...you can write to him at the following address, however: c/o
Bill Graham Management, P.O. Box 1994, San Fransisco,
California 94101, United States of America?
...his forthcoming record has been delayed because he's not
satisfied with it?
...another bootleg was done off the November 1990 Queensrÿche
concert in Amsterdam?
...this is interesting for all Dutch?
...Queensrÿche themselves also brought out a limited edition live
CD + VHS video pack?
...it's called "Operating: Live Crime"?
...it's the complete "Operation Mindcrime" album performed live,
including "Suite Sister Mary"?
...it's utterly, completely, fully and totally brilliant?
...it was taped during their "Building Empires Tour", May 10-12th
in Wisconsin, U.S.A.?
..., if you haven't bought the latest Metallica album yet, you
should do so a.s.a.p.?
...I just wanted to mention that quickly?
...another couple of bootlegs came out from Metallica as well?
...the first came from Luxembourg and is called "Creeping Death"?
...it's a recording of the "Monsters of Rock" concert of 1987 in
Pforzheim (August 20th)?
...it features a rare live version of "Leper Messiah"?
...another bootleg, off an earlier US tour, also came out?
...it's called "Seek and Destroy"?
...I did not buy this, as James Hetfield was not singing all too
enthusiastically, and the quality was below average?
...yet another Metallica bootleg is already off the 1991
"Monsters of Rock" tour, with "Sad but True" and "Enter
Sandman" from the latest album?
...it's called "Open Graves" and has 78 minutes of music?
...another Monsters of Rock bootleg featuring the same set also
came out but two weeks later, called "The Four Sandmen"?
...this was taped on September 8th somewhere in Skandinavia?
...quality was less and the set was the same so I didn't buy it?
...the latest Metallica bootleg I saw (and bought) is called
"Live Before Death (Part Two)"?
...it is a very good quality recording of a December 12th 1984
concert in London?
...it features some classics as well as "Call of Ktulu", "Ride
the Lightning" and "Fight Fire with Fire" of which live
versions are rare?
...a new live double-CD of Slayer came out recently?
...it's actually very good, and a must for those who wanna get in
touch with the band?
...there's 21 songs, 90 minutes, good quality, the best they ever
did?
...shivers run down my spine each time I hear Tom Araya shout
"War Ensemble!"?
...you should definitely check out Mariah Carey, too?
..., apart from the fact that she's truly beautiful, she has the
most ear-soothing voice imaginable?
...I think she's an equal to Kate Bush (although some people,
like Tanis of TCB probably, would fervently disagree here, if
only for the sake of disagreeing)?
...I have recently also discovered the band "Fields of the
Nephilim"?
...it is actually very good, once you get used to the singer's
voice?
...Stefan was already digging this band well over half a year
ago?
...I guess I'm a bit slow sometimes?
...I also recently discovered Faith No More?
...their "Live at Brixton Academy" is brilliant?
...you should really listen to "The Real Thing", too?
..., if you're into Entombed or Carcass, you should listen to
their latest efforts called "Clandestine" and "Necrotism -
Descanting the Insalubrious" respectively?
...I even discovered a new 'guitar hero' just before Christmas?
...he's called Mads Eriksen, and his latest CD is "Storyteller"?
...it's a cross between, as far as I can tell, Vinnie Moore and
Steve Vai, with bits of Joe Satriani?
...his fastest bits are as fast as Malmsteen's?
...I would like to extend some serious thanks to Kai for sending
it to me for Christmas?
...these are all the music bits for this issue?
Films
...on the film front there is also some news?
...I have now finally seen "Terminator II" myself?
...it was brilliant with regard to special effects, but mediocre
with regard to all the rest (and that's an understatement!)?
...it is one of the top films of 1991 nonetheless?
...another very good film is "Backdraft"?
...personally I would prefer this above "Terminator II"
(possibly, maybe, or then again maybe not completely)?
...my video tip of the previous issue of ST NEWS was "Fletch"?
...my current video tip is "Ghost"?
...it is a very good film, in spite of the fact that Patrick
Swayze stars in it?
...you should preferably try to watch it with a soulmate, though?
...this comprises the end to this issue's film department?
Software
...Jeff Minter recently had a two-page interview in "Zero"
(November 1991 issue)?
...I think they made fun of him a bit?
...it was nonetheless some good advertisement for shareware and
"Llamatron"?
...he said that about 1000 people paid the shareware fee for
"Llamatron"?
...he thinks this is a nice figure, as he gets £5 per copy?
...I think this is a fucking disgrace, as in Holland alone at
least a 1000 people are actually playing the game?
...I really hope his next shareware project will earn him loads
more dosh?
...he has finished a new game?
...it's "Revenge of the Mutant Camels"?
...a review can be found elsewhere in this issu of ST NEWS?
...we may very well offer this game in our next ST NEWS issue?
...that issue may therefore probably contain a little bit less
articles?
...he is working on a fifth generation light synth now?
...I completed "Llamatron"?
..., without a drone, I got a score of 2.7 million?
..., with a drone, I got a score of 1.6 million?
...I am proud of both these feats - but especially of the first
one?
...Miranda (i.e. my 'gal' in case you didn't know) is stuck at
just over 1 million (about level 85), with drone?
...in two player mode, we're stuck at a bit past 900,000,
somewhere in the range of level 70?
...I have actually finished quite a couple of games in my
'career'?
...the ones I can remember (on the ST) are "Bubble Bobble",
"Gods", "Llamatron", "Arkanoid", "Wings of Death",
"Gridrunner", "Airball", "The Pawn", "Barbarian" (Psygnosis),
"Rick Dangerous", "Wizball", "Plutos", "Rosemary Raccoon's
Strip Game" and all "Strip Poker" games?
...I'm not far off the end of "Lemmings", "Rick Dangerous II" and
"Blood Money", whereas a long time ago I almost completed
Microdeal's ancient "Time Bandits" (in a two-player session
with ex-co-conspirator Frank Lemmen, in 1987, that took many
hours)?
...I can't even start mentioning games I completed on the
Commodore 64 ("Lode Runner", "Satan's Hollow", "Aztec
Challenge", "Jumpman", etc., etc.)?
...one could say I am a bit of a veteran?
...I will quit bragging now?
...there is a software-based multi-tasking system for the
ST/STE/TT?
...it is called "MultiGEM", and published by Maxon in Germany?
...Motörhead will see their name in a game license by the end of
1992?
...this is bad news, as they are completely and utterly crap of
the lowest order?
...you should not hesitate to drop us a note if you fondly agree
or completely disagree with the previous statement?
...Gremlin is doing "Lotus Turbo Challenge 2"?
..."Birds of Prey" is now definitely (Argonaut quote) about to be
released?
...this 'best flight sim yet' (Argonaut quote) all in all took
about five years to do?
...I have strong reservations about both the release date and the
'best-ness' of it?
...Stefan and myself saw the program when we visited Argonaut
software's Jez San as far back as the summer of 1989?
...it all looked OK, and very fast at that time, but the
demonstration was performed on a 20 Mhz Amiga 2000?
...there'll be a forthcoming Lucasfilm TV series called "The
Young Indiana Jones Chronicles"?
...this is not of all too much interest for us?
...Lucasfilm Games, however, will also do a game of it?
...their sequel to the excellent "Monkey Island" (called "Le
Chuck's Revenge") is almost finished?
...Electronic Arts should already have released a data disk for
their "PowerMonger", called "The Word War I Edition" data
disk?
..."Populous II" should be ready as well?
...this genre of games (isometric view, strategy) is getting very
popular?
...Craftgold (of 8-bit "Uridium" and 16-bit "Rainbow Islands" and
"Simulcra" fame) are doing a game like this for Virgin Games?
...it will be called "Realms"?
...the ad speaks of 125,000 square miles of fractally-generated
landscape, 128 armies (each a thousand men strong and with
definable battle formations), countless cities (including
their inhabitants' lives and their money) and six distinct
humanoid races?
...this all sounds jolly impressive?
...many great games, among which are "Lord of the Rings" (both
volumes I and II) will only be done on the PC and Amiga - not
on the ST?
...this is reason enough to start writing concerned letters to
Electronic Arts?
...these people do not seem to know that converting to ST should
not cost more than 1 or 2 weeks when done by a capable
programmer?
...Sierra-on-Line is dropping the ST, too?
...they will only do their products on PC (256 colour, super VGA)
and Amiga from now on?
...this is a load of cock's wallop?!
...you should all write to them and complain?
...those of you who are into raunchy loving should check out
forthcoming Steve Meretzky game "Leather Goddesses of Phobos
II"?
...this time it's got pics?!
...there is a new version of "Universal Item Selector III"?
...it is version 3.32?
...it is fully compatible with TT and stuff, which was not quite
the case with version 3.3 that I introduced in the previous ST
NEWS issue?
...is now also allows extra extensions (more than the usual five)
to be selected properly?
...this can be achieved through a box that will appear when
pressing the right and then the left mouse button on the
leftmost normal extension?
...it will allow for another 24 extensions there?
...there's a cheat for "Rodland", of which a full review can be
found elsewhere in this ish?
...you should pause the game and press the HELP key five times,
then unpause?
...you should now have infinite lives?
...the Bitmap Brothers have a new game in the pipeline?
...it will be called "The Chaos Engine", and from the screenshots
I have seen it can already be said that the graphics set new
standards?
...it will be a top-view eight-way scroller not entirely unlike
the "Gauntlet" principle, but in a different setup?
...you'll have to wait until the summer of 1992 for it, though?
Hardware
...there are now even 386-based MS-DOS emulators for the ST/STE?
...we're talking about a Norton factor of 15 here?
...they are made by Vortex and called Vortex ATonce-386SX?
...separate versions are available for ST and STE at DM 798,-
each?
...a FAST-RAM version costs about DM 100,- more?
...without FAST-RAM, by the way, the Norton factor is 8.4?
...harddisks for a 1040 ST/STE are now also available?
...a 40 Mb drive inside the 1040, excluding fan, will set you
back about DM 1500,-?
...miniaturisation has to be paid for, obviously?
...the company doing it is called Roskothen & Eckstein in
Germany?
...their phone number is ++49-241-872759 (international)?
...another bit of news from the harddisk front comes from Conner
Peripherals?
...they have introduced new harddisk technology based on Chinook
drives that allows two tasks to be performed parallel?
...this allows I/O to be sped up by about 100%, and an average
access time of about 3 milliseconds?
...a 510 Mb harddisk using this technology is about 15 cm long, 8
cm in width and 4 cm high?
...address of the company nor approximate price are known
(source: German "TOS" magazine, 1/92)?
...I would really like to have a "NeXT" computer (the new machine
of Apple-founder Steve Jobs that I already mentioned earlier)?
...I dream of it regularly, and it gnaws at me when I work on the
ST?
...a decent configuration of the thing costs about 10,000 Dutch
guilders (about DM 9000, $5000, £3000)?
...that's a bit too expensive for a student who has to live off
570 Dutch guilders per month?
...it is the only machine that beats Amiga, ST and the hottest
new PC's?
...there is now a very cheap method to work with HD drives on the
ST?
...for 20 German marks one can buy a new chip so that any HD
drive can be connected?
...a HD (i.e. high density) drive can store twice as much on a
floppy disk?
...a TEAC 235 HF high density drive is for sale at 130 German
marks?
...the address to write to is Karl-Heinz Wirner,
Heisterbacherstr. 127, D-5330 Königswinter 1, West Germany?
...telephone number is (international) ++49-2223-1567?
...a full review can be found in the next issue of ST NEWS?
Disk Magazines
..."Disk Maggie"'s Michael Schussler left the infamous Lost Boys
and is now member of the maybe altogether almost just as
infamous (but not quite) Delta Force?
..."Maggie" is therefore now a Delta Force production?
...Oxygene also left TLB to join the Delta Force?
...the Delta Force seems to be the quickest growing freak show on
earth?
...this actually implies that "Disk Maggie" is now the disk
magazine of "The Union"?
...this is a strange thought?
..."Maggie" is now also done from Germany instead of England?
...people are beginning to fear for it stopping altogether?
...I hope this won't happen?
...other people say it will sweep everybody off its feet?
...the Delta Force programmers are now doing all the things for
"Maggie" that Tim (i.e. Manikin) refused to do?
...a new magazine seems to be arising in Germany, though I
haven't see it yet?
...it's called "Lightning", and it's primarily aimed at STE
users?
...it is made by Thrasher of Target (Light), who is in fact Malte
Köhrer, Musberg 15, D-2323 Ascheberg, West Germany?
...they are looking for people who write articles and send in
their personal 'charts'?
...there are quite a lot of disk magazines on the ST?
...I recently obtained some issues of the "ST Enthusiasts
Newsletter" made by Dave Mooney?
...it is an excellent disk magazine that you can read a full
review of elsewhere in this issue of ST NEWS?
...we will work closely together with this magazine in the near
future?
...I also heard of some more magazines?
...some of the best are "Inside Info" and "Interleave" (with
current issue number of 52 (!) and 2 respectively)?
...there are some more, though?
...they are "Info Atari Digest" (edited ST discussions off the
American Usenet - at least 216 issues so far, with a new issue
about every 10 days! Sound like "ST Report" to me), "STUNN" (a
free bi-monthly, 10 ishs so far), "Inc Magazine" (by Swedish
Incoders), "STanzine" (Issue 1 recently launched) and
"Discbox" (disk magazine on "Degas Elite" pics with a
slideshow program)?
...and then I still have to add "DNT Paper", a magazine
supposedly made in France?
...the last (but not the least) magazine I'd like to mention is
called "Way Station"?
...this is a fiction magazine of which the first issue should
have appeared as you read this (i.e. January 1992)?
...the editor is looking for authors of original fiction and
such?
...his address is Bryan H. Joyce, 25 Glenacre Road, North
Carbrain, Cumbernauld, Scotland G67 2NS?
...I would really like to contact the people behind "Interleave"
(yes, you, Mr. Tom Zunder!)?
Coding Conventions
..., in the previous issue of ST NEWS, we had a real-time article
covering the Delta Force International Coding Conference?
...there was a coding competition there?
...there was supposed to be a Coding Conference Demo soon
afterwards?
...I actually received this on November 19th 1991?
...a review of the demo is to be found elsewhere in this issue?
...I got to know a cheat code for a hidden screen in this demo?
...the hidden screen consists of the new menu for "Maggie"?
...you have to enter "HIDDENSCREENMAESSIG" in the main menu?
...a Christmas Coding Convention has supposed to have taken place
in France?
...it was called the French Christmas Coding Convention 1991, and
it was organised by Perceval of Zuul ("He Who Is More Commonly
Known As The Ultimate Burper")?
...it would have taken place from December 21st to December 24th
1991 in a little town close to Paris?
...it caused Sewersoft to stop persueing the organisation of a
Coding Convention in Holland, that was originally to take
place at around the same time in Vught, the Netherlands?
...a real-time article of the French Convention was to find its
way into ST NEWS Volume 7 Issue 2?
...the entire FCCC was cancelled, however?
...there are rumours about it happening later, possibly early
1992?
...more about another mega party due soon in Sweden can be read
elsewhere?
Miscellaneous
...my virus killer, "The Ultimate Virus Killer", got a 90%
"Format Gold" rating in "ST Format"?
..., even though it is a crap magazine, I like that fact?
...the nearest competitor was the Floppyshop "Professional Virus
Killer" by Mike Mee with a rating of 72%?
...Mark van den Boer, whom some of you may remember from the
early ST NEWS days' (Volume 1 and Volume 2) "Machine code
course", now lives permanently in Sydney, Australia?
...we really miss him, but wish him all the luck in the world
(knowing him he probably doesn't need it as he's swimming in
it)?
...he now works for a computer company involved with space
projects there?
...I f@cking envy him?!
...the Malmsteen fanclub address and name have changed?
...it is now called "Malmsteen Militia", and the new address is
P.O. Box 5032, Tallahassee, FL 32301, Unites States of
America?
...if you mention my name when joining them the chance of ST NEWS
ever getting an interview with He Who Plays The Guitar Fastest
And Best In The Known Universe (And Beyond) will grow
considerably?
...Stefan and me were featured on a rather large picture in the
German magazine "TOS" (Issue 11/1991)?
...it was a picture taken at the Düsseldorf Atari Messe, and also
featured faces of illustrious people such as Manikin, all
members of the Respectables, Big Alec and Flix of Delta Force,
Gunstick and Fate of ULM, Fury, two Sewersoft beings, a SOD
(TS, to be more precise - who is easy to spot even if you
don't know him) and the Tanis of TCB?
...it is a rather nice piccie?
...I was rather proud to be in that picture?
...the cover disk to said magazine features a rather OK demo
screen by Big Alec of DF?
..."Ed Lit" as a matter of fact stands for "Education" and
"Literature", which are the two chief genres of articles to be
found in that particular pull-down menu?
...Ken 'Ancient STatarian' Butler is still very much alive?
...he finally wrote to me after letting me wait for one year?

...they mainly have to do with structures like "will be
