THE ST NEWS INTERNATIONAL CHRISTMAS CODING CONVENTION
OFFICIAL CERTIFIED MERCHANDISE
by Richard Karsmakers
Just like, say, a rock concert or a major exhibition, I felt
that the ST NEWS International Christmas Coding Convention that
was extensively covered in ST NEWS Volume 6 Issue 1, should have
its very own certified merchandise. Hence, I have tried hard to
enable interested people to get their hands on some high quality
stuff related to the Convention.
The official certified STNICCC merchandise consists of two
different items: A T-shirt and a long-play video cassette. This
somewhat limited range of products, of course, is due to the fact
that I have neither the time nor the funds and the talents of a
full-fledged marketing organisation. I are genuinely sorry for
this, but nonetheless I feel that the items available do succeed
in capturing some of the unique atmosphere of what no doubt has
been a unique event.
Both merchandise items could already be ordered at the
Convention at a reduced cost-only price.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
But before I get on with this, I'd like to stress one very
important thing: Please do NOT order any items on dates after
June 30th 1992! Ordering quantities will then have grown to be
too small for me to arrange everything and still being able to
cover the costs!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
OK. What's available, then?
THE T-SHIRT
The Convention T-shirt is only available in XL, and is made of
white cotton with a full-colour print of original artwork by ES
of The Exceptions on the front. The artwork, among others,
states "I have been at the ST NEWS International Christmas
Coding Conference - and I even survived!".
Production: Tyrem of The Respectables.
Artwork: ES of The Exceptions.
Price: 40 Dutch guilders.
THE CONVENTION VID'
The Convention vid' is available on VHS only, and PAL only
(sorry, SECAM users in France!). Apart from shots of virtually
all the crews attending the Convention, the video also features
atmospheric Convention scenes as well as various sketches (a bit
like "The Funniest Home Videos"). By means of special bonus, it
also features parts of the 1990 "The Carebears Home Vid'"
(courtesy of Tanis of The Carebears).
The quality, of course, is not what you would expect in a
professional film of some variety - after all, we used home video
camera equipment. But the atmosphere is faithfully captured, and
that's what counts.
By all means: Something that the video collection of any
serious ST computer freak should not lack!
Production, editing and direction: ST NEWS.
Primary camera work: ST NEWS and Ilja of Level 16.
Playing length: 107 minutes approx. HiFi Stereo. PAL only.
Price: 50 Dutch guilders.

HOW TO PAY
The rules for payment seem slightly complex but are in fact
very simple. You have to send the required amount of money to
the address below.
I have to collect orders for a while so that I can have the T-
shirts made and the videos duplicated cheaper, so it may take up
to three months for delivery. If you want me to acknowledge that
I have received your order, add one International Reply Coupon
(two if you live outside Europe). Do not add stamps for this
purpose!!
Regular (non-registered) post & packaging is included in the
price, but if you don't live in Europe I'm afraid you'll have to
pay 5 Dutch guilders extra per order (so ordering with several
people together is best). If you order more than one item, each
additional item will be 5 Dutch guilders cheaper. If you want
your merchandise to be sent to you by registered mail, you have
to add 10 Dutch guilders.
The required amount of money should always be paid in cash, and
preferably in Dutch money. If you send any other currencies,
please send the equivalent of the amount of Dutch money
required, rounded off upwards to the nearest smallest bill
available in your currency.
Always send bills. Do not send any coins!
The address to send the money to is:
Richard Karsmakers
Looplantsoen 50
NL-3523 GV Utrecht
The Netherlands
Don't forget to add sufficient International Reply Coupons if
you want me to confirm your order! Write everything clearly, in
block capitals! This way, everything should go smoothly, fast,
and perfect.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
That's it. All that is left to say is that I think you should
definitely get the video, as it is surely worth your while. The
T-shirt is primarily of interest to people who have actually been
at the Convention - although you can also show it off to your
friends even if you haven't.
Just make sure you keep yourself to the paying rules stated
above, and everything will happen smoothly and as quickly as
possible!
