GOT 'EM ALL? - THE COMPLETE METALLICA DISCOGRAPHY
- REVIS(IT)ED! -
(PART ONE: OFFICIAL RELEASES)
by Richard Karsmakers
A while ago (in ST NEWS Volume 7 Issue 2 of May 1992), we
dedicated our jolly little mag to Metallica, the Maniac Masters
of Metal. Among other things, that issue featured a complete
discography of the band, listing all regular CDs and more
bootlegs than ever before!
During the time that passed ever since that discography article
was finished, I kept adding bits that I found, so here you find a
revis(it)ed version of the article - this time also including a
list of concerts of which pirated video/audio taped version are
known to exist, as well as the latest updates from the Metallica
Internet Digest. Dates are mentioned in day-month-year format. I
have added some bootleg track lists, but these are to be regarded
as bonus thingies as there is no way I could have found all of
them out myself.
Still, credits need to go to the Metallica/Sepultura Metal
Hammer special (published in 1991) in which especially a lot of
the official and vinyl stuff was listed. Special credits need to
go to Jeff Shaw and his noble coworkers, too; they're the
Metallica Digest discography nutters on Internet who supplied me
with loads more titles as well.
In total, I am proud to say that this discography contains
more information than any previous Metallica discography: A
whopping 1064 entries!

BOXES AND THAT SORT OF THANG

18 entries
The line between regular CDs and 'boxes' is a thin one. Also,
the line between official boxes and less official boxes is thin.
So if you can't find a box that concentrates on one particular
album, it might be mentioned somewhere, above. Bootleg boxes
might be mentioned in the "bootleg" sections, if they weren't
deemed box enough. Subjective and idiosyncratic, I know :-)
