"We have read your manuscript with boundless delight. If we were
to publish your paper, it would be impossible for us to publish
any work of lower standard. And as it is unthinkable that in the
next thousand years we shall see its equal, we are, to our
regret, compelled to return your divine composition, and to beg
you a thousand times to overlook our short sight and timidity."

Trivia:
- Begins with a shot of a rock in Utah which is reminiscent of
the Paramount Pictures logo. See also ("Raiders of the Lost
Ark", and "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom")
- Shows origin of Jones' fear of snakes in "Raiders of the
Lost Ark".
- Harrison Ford cut his chin in a car accident in Northern
California when he was about 20. In the movie, this cut is
explained by young Indiana Jones cutting his chin with a
whip.
- When making "Star Wars", George Lucas owned a dog named
"Indiana".
- The dog barking when young Indy passes with the cross in his
hand is an Alaskan Malmute, the same type of dog the Lucas's
owned in the late 1970s.
- Walter Donovan was played by Julian Glover, and Donovan's
wife was played by Glover's wife.
Goofs:
- (In the scene at the beginning) Indy is swinging off the
Coronado via a hook on a line. He distinctly has the Cross
of Coronado in his left hand in the previous scene. When he
grabs onto the hook, the cross disappears, and when he lands
in the water, it's in his left hand again.
- At the beginning of the movie, just before young Indy
escapes into the train's caboose, the train is seen going
through a mountainous area with forests. He disappears
through the box in the floor, and when the guy with the hat
looks out the back door of the caboose, there are no more
mountains ... the terrain is flat like the place where Indy
boarded the train in the first place!
- The first shot of the adult Indy as he raises his head shows
blood trickling down his chin from one side of his mouth.
In the next and subsequent shots, the blood is dripping from
the other side.
- In trying to find his father. Indiana Jones goes thru his
father's mail. A close up of the letters shows one with a
stamp not issued by the U.S. Post Office until after the
time frame of the movie.
- After being chased by the Germans, Indy and his father come
to a sign that is posted by a fork in the road. One road
goes to Berlin, the other to Venice. This sign is unlikely,
because Venice and Berlin are roughly 400 miles apart.
- In the sequence in which Indy's clambering about on the
outside of the tank, it's impossible for him to have gotten
hung up on the gun barrel the way he does -- the end of the
barrel's already been blown apart, causing it to blossom
like a metal flower which is too large for Indy to have
passed that loop of equipment strap over even if he'd wanted
to.
- After the tank goes over the cliff, the turret of the tank
falls off and away as the tank hits the ground. However,
when Connery and the rest look over the edge at the tank,
the turret is in place on the top of the tank.
- As the camera angles change on Sean Connery right after the
Hatayan tank falls from the cliff, you can see marked
differences in the way Connery's beard is trimmed.
- While spelling out the word of God, Indy steps on a letter,
accidentally breaking the letter behind his foot. In the
next shot, the letter is intact.
- The letter he stepped on was a J, which was wrong because
Jehovah is spelled Iehovah in Latin. But the reason for the
spelling difference is that Latin *has* no letter J. So
there shouldn't have been a J tile in the first place. (It
might conceivably have been an ornate T, but doesn't look
much like one.)
- Hitler writes his name with the wrong hand when he
autographs the diary.
- After Connery's character has blown away the rudder of the
plane, the rudder is seen virtually intact in a following
long shot of the plane.

Summary: Peter Pan (Williams) has grown up to be a cut-throat
merger and acquisitions lawyer, and is married to
Wendy's granddaughter. Captain Hook (Hoffman) kidnaps
his children, and Peter returns to Never Land with
Tinkerbell (Roberts). With the help of her and the
Lost Boys, he must remember how to be Peter Pan again
in order to save his children by battling with Captain
Hook once again.

Trivia:
- Bob Hoskins (Smee) bought beer for 300+ extras after a
lengthy and complicated scene was cut.
- The young Peter Pan is played by Dustin Hoffman's son.
- When the Tootles floats out the window at the end, he says
"Seize the Day", which has significance for Robin Williams,
who starred in "Seize the Day", and "Dead Poet's Society"
(for which this was a catch-cry).
- Smee says "Goooooooood morning Neverland!", a reference to
Williams in "Good Morning Vietnam".
- There were frequent good-natured "battle of the wits"
exchanges between Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman. In one
incident, Hoffman was not happy with his performance and
asked the scene to be re-shot. Williams' quipped "Try
acting": a reference to the Hoffman/Olivier exchange on the
set of "Marathon Man".

JURASSIC PARK (1993)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Summary: Scientists develop a means of bringing dinosaurs to
life using DNA taken from dino' blood, which has been
preserved inside insects encased in amber. Whilst
Hammond is showing off his dinosaur 'theme park' to a
selected audience [a lawyer (Gerrano), mathematician
(Malcolm), dino' expert (Grant), palaeobotanist
(Sattler) and his grandchildren (Tim & Lex)], Nedry
(computer expert) disables the security system so that
he can make his escape with some stolen embryos. This
enables all the dinosaurs to escape their enclosures...
Look out the dinosaurs are coming!

Miguel Sandoval..................Rostagno
Cameron Thor.....................Dodgson
B.D. Wong........................Dr. Wu
Trivia:
- William Hurt was offered the role of Dr Grant, but turned it
down without reading the book or the script.
- The park software is written in Pascal; a program is clearly
visible in one of the monitor closeups on the UNIX system.
The graphical interface recognized as a UNIX system is
Silicon Graphics' "3D File System Navigator".
- Director Steven Spielberg was worried that 'computer
graphics' meant 'Nintendo' type cartoon quality. He
originally only wanted the herd of gallimimus dinosaurs to
be computer generated, but upon seeing Industrial Light and
Magic's T-Rex animation, he decided to shoot nearly all the
dinosaur scenes using this method. The animation was first
plotted on an Amiga Toaster, and rendered for the film by
Silicon Graphics' Indigo workstations.
- The full-sized animatron of the Tyrannosaurus Rex weighed
about 13,000 to 15,000 pounds. During the shooting of the
initial T-Rex attack scene which took place in a downpour
and was shot on a soundstage, the latex that covered the T-
Rex 'puppet' absorbed great amounts of water making it much
heavier and harder to control. Technicians worked
throughout the night with blow driers trying to dry the
latex out. Eventually, they suspended a platform above the
T-Rex, out of camera range, to keep the water off of it
during filming.
- A baby triceratops was built for a scene where one of the
kids rides it. Special effects technicians worked on this
effect for a year but the scene was cut at the last minute
as Spielberg thought it would ruin the pacing of the film.
- "Dennis Nedry" is an anagram of "Nerdy Sinned".
- Ellie Sattler says "Something went wrong" to Dr Malcolm
(Jeff Goldblum). In "The Fly" (1986), [Geena Davis] said
this to Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum).
- In the egg-hatching scene, a new-born baby Triceratops was
originally supposed to come out of the egg, but it was
changed to a velociraptor.
- The film's original ending had Sam Neill's character left
behind on the island.
- Scenes of the T-Rex attacking Horner and the kids while they
ride down a river and through a running waterfall were
apparently filmed, but Spielberg cut them as he thought they
were not realistic enough.
- There was so many wires and rigging to control the
velociraptor animatrons in the kitchen stalking scene that
the child actors had to literally step over and around them
while the scene was being filmed. The kitchen set was
greatly expanded from the original design to accommodate the
velociraptors.
- Spielberg wanted the velociraptors to be about 10 feet tall,
which was taller than they were known to be. During
filming, scientists discovered 10 feet tall velociraptors.
- A scene of Ellie pulling the leaf off an extinct plant
appeared in the film trailers but not the film itself.
- Fred Sorenson was the pilot who flew the crew off Kaui when
the hurricane hit during production. He played "Jock", the
pilot who flew Harrison Ford (as Indiana Jones) away in the
opening scene of "Raiders of the Lost Ark", also directed by
Spielberg.
- Spielberg was so confident with this film that he started
making his next film ("Schindler's List"), placing post-
production in the hands of George Lucas. Computer animation
was still being done in the week that the movie was
released.
Goofs:
- When the Velociraptor eggs are hatching in the nursery, the
robot arm is steadying the egg in one shot then disappears
in the next shot.
- When the jeeps are stalled outside the T-Rex paddock during
the storm, and the lawyer runs away, he leaves the door
open. When the kids' jeep (the one with the door open) is
shown from the other jeep, the door is closed, then open
again in the closeup and interior shots of the kids jeep.
The door opens and closes several times in this scene.
